Volunteer Content Creator
OVERVIEW OF POSITION
The Volunteer Content Creator will assist the Communications and Fund Development Coordinator in generating engaging social media content that aligns with our mission, vision, and values. The ideal candidate will have experience in content creation and a keen eye for detail.. This role requires an outgoing and collaborative individual who can contribute to our efforts in raising awareness and support for the hospice.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and pitch innovative content ideas that support Oak Ridges Hospice's mission and goals.
Create high-quality content for various platforms, including social media, the website, newsletters, and print materials.
Ensure all content is accurate, well-researched, and aligns with the hospice’s branding and messaging guidelines.
Collaborate with the hospice team to gather stories, photos, and information for content creation.
Edit and proofread content to ensure it is error-free and meets high standards of quality.
Assist in managing and scheduling content across different platforms.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to brainstorming sessions.
Qualifications:
Proven experience in content creation (writing, photography, videography, graphic design, etc.) or working towards a career in communications, marketing, or content creation.
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to commit to 10 hours per month.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in using content creation tools and software.
Understanding of the hospice’s mission, vision, and values, and a commitment to upholding them in all content created.

Up to date Covid-19 vaccination
Oak Ridges Volunteer Orientation (2 hours)
1-2 peer support shadow sessions
Expected Time Commitment
10 Hours per month
To become a volunteer you must:
Be 16 years or older, and 18 years or older to work directly with residents and families
Submit an online application
Attend a screening interview
Show proof of vaccination
