At Oak Ridges Hospice, our kitchen is more than just a place to prepare food—it’s the heart of the home, where memories are made, stories are shared, and comfort is served with every bite. We’re looking for compassionate, community-minded volunteers to help create a welcoming space for residents and families through delicious meals and meaningful conversation.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Prepare, plate, cook, and heat food using approved recipes
- Chat with residents and families in the living and dining rooms
- Deliver meals with kindness to residents and guests
- Keep the kitchen clean, restocked, and organized
- Follow safe food handling and kitchen hygiene protocols
- Help maintain a cozy, tidy shared space
What we’re looking for:
- Are passionate about helping others through food and connection
- Feel at home in the kitchen and comfortable following recipes
- Have strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Are friendly, patient, compassionate, and a good listener

Time Commitment:
3 hours per week
Requirements:
- Police Records Check – Vulnerable Sector Screening
- 2 Reference Checks
- HPCO online training (8 hrs)
- Oak Ridges Hospice Volunteer Orientation
- Food Safety Training (5 hrs)
- 1–2 Peer Shadowing Sessions
