What You’ll Be Doing:
- Spending one-on-one time with residents—sharing stories, reading, or just being a quiet presence
- Offering emotional support to families and caregivers
- Help deliver meals and beverages
- Supporting staff with non-medical tasks such as laundry, restocking etc
- Providing simple comfort measures like fluffing pillows or holding a hand
- Pitching in at the kitchen or reception desk when needed
- Logging daily updates to support care team communication

- A compassionate, patient, and a great listener
- Comfortable supporting people through emotional or tender moments
- Able to stay grounded and aware of your own boundaries
- A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Time Commitment:
4 hours per week
Requirements:
- Vulnerable Sector Police Records Check
- 2 Reference Checks
- Completion of a 30-hour online training through HPCO
- Completion of Oak Ridges Hospice Orientation
- 2–3 peer-shadow shifts to support you as you get started
