Oak Ridges Hospice is proud to recognize Donna & David Cooper whose generosity made an extraordinary impact on our 2025 Holiday Match Campaign.
Passionate about the world around them, they are avid travellers who have visited 87 countries across every continent. Their experiences have fostered a deep appreciation for people, cultures, and communities and have shaped their strong belief in compassion, connection, and service.
This commitment to giving back is reflected in decades of community involvement. David has chaired 17 nonprofit boards and currently serves as chair of a nonprofit housing organization in Markham, continuing a lifelong dedication to helping others.
After learning about the Holiday Match Campaign, Donna & David stepped forward with a generous commitment to match $75,000 in donations. As the campaign unfolded, they increased their donation to match all gifts made by December 31st, 2025. The campaign concluded with over $118,000 in donations and Donna & David generously doubled the impact of every gift and helped raise a total of $236,000 for hospice care.
They hope this will inspire our community to give more and ensuring that compassionate hospice care can continue for individuals and families when they need it most. Having both experienced tragedy with loved ones themselves a caring hospice setting would have made the journey both for themselves, their families and their loved one a calmer relaxed ending.
We are deeply grateful for their kindness, leadership, and belief in our mission. Their support is more than a financial gift. It is a powerful expression of compassion and community spirit. Because of them, hope and care reached twice as far this holiday season.
